Our work ranges from large-scale projects like the expansion of the NYC Ferry System the design of complex berths and ship terminals, and the support of offshore wind development, to the rehabilitation of piers, bulkhead designs, and dive inspections led by Professional Engineers.

NYC Coastal Engineering

The coastal engineering and resiliency team puts the focus on protecting communities and waterfront facilities. Our team of resiliency specialists, WEDG certified engineers, and FEMA experts focus on coastal flood risk management, coastal resiliency, coastal restoration and mitigation, and waterfront redevelopment.

As building codes and city needs change, waterfront projects like adaptive-reuse, waterborne transportation, new construction, ZCFR and waterfront parks will need to be engineered with resiliency in mind—especially as climate change and the severity and frequency of storm events increase. Our certified Floodplain Managers (CFMs) are mitigating efforts to alleviate the cycle of damage-rebuild-damage.
