Eagle + West, a Greenpoint Landing Waterfront Development

Designed to simultaneously lean into and away from each other, the abstract residential skyscraper and tower, Eagle + West, are poised to be an iconic part of Greenpoint Landing, Brooklyn’s newest waterfront development.

Marine Engineering

Working with Brookfield Properties and Park Tower Group, McLaren is providing marine engineering services for the NYC WEDG certified waterfront development’s esplanade built with an emphasis on resiliency and drainage. The tiered green space is transforming the once underutilized stretch of waterfront into a new resilient park for the NYC’s Greenpoint community. McLaren is designing the waterfront’s new bulkhead, platforms and slabs for this 21-acre property that provides public open space along the shoreline.

McLaren also provided marine engineering services for the NYC Ferry stop at Greenpoint Landing.

Construction Engineering

Our Construction Engineering Team worked with the concrete contractor, Highbury Concrete, to design temporary platforms to help them construct the leaning buildings, provided permitting expediting with the NYCDOB, and structural special inspections for:

• Structural Steel – Welding NYCBC Section 1704.3.1
• Structural Steel – Details NYCBC Section 1704.3.2
• Structural Steel – High Strength Bolting and Details NYCBC Section 1704.3.1

McLaren’s Construction Engineering Team also provided services for the amenity bridge truss.
