McLaren Engineering Group Announces Plans to Expand to Bergen County, New Jersey

WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J., April 17, 2018- McLaren Engineering Group announced today it will expand to Bergen County, New Jersey, in August 2018. McLaren signed a 12-year lease on a 57,000-square-foot Class A building at 530 Chestnut Ridge Road in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, which has the capacity for over 250 employees.

This new modern facility in New Jersey will accommodate our firm’s growth, help us attract and retain talent, and position us for future success,” says Malcolm G. McLaren, president and CEO, McLaren Engineering Group, which celebrated its 40th anniversary last year. “We are excited about the growth opportunities in NJ and the expansion of our regional footprint.”

The state-of-the-art building, owned by Keystone Property Group, is strategically situated off the Garden State Parkway at exit 171, offering easy access to NJ Transit rail and bus stations.

McLaren’s regional growth continues through its New York City and Albany, NY offices, which employ more than 50, as well as the firm’s marine services operations in Rockland County, NY, and Liberty Landing Marina in New Jersey.

“It is wonderful to have a leading engineering firm like McLaren choose Woodcliff Lake for its expanding team,” says Woodcliff Lake Mayor Carlos Rendo. “We are excited to have the firm join our community which is also home to the North American headquarters for BMW and Perillo Tours.”

“Bergen County is happy to welcome McLaren and its employees to Woodcliff Lake,” said Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco. “McLaren’s work is innovative, diversified and highly respected which makes them a great match for Bergen County. Our highly educated and skilled workforce, excellent schools and parks, and diverse downtowns and shopping centers make our region one of the most attractive places to locate a business.”

McLaren’s most recent New Jersey projects include the Caven Point Marine Terminal in Jersey City, the mixed-used developments at 197 and 207 Van Vorst in Jersey City, the Pulaski Skyway bridge in Kearny, a recreational pier in Weehawken, automated signage at Newark Airport and wharf reconstruction at Port Newark. The firm has also worked to improve over 300 miles of coastline in the Port of New York and New Jersey.

McLaren has designed and engineered some of the region’s most important bridges, structures, entertainment venues and public spaces including the LIRR Post Avenue Railroad Bridge, high rise mixed-use developments at 416 and 420 Kent in Williamsburg, Hudson Theatre on Broadway, the Sea Glass Carousel in Battery Park, site planning design at Transmitter Park in Greenpoint, the Formula ePrix racetrack in Red Hook, landings for the expanded NYC Ferry, and the White Plains Hospital Center’s reconstruction and renovation.
