One of North America’s tallest prefabricated metal load-bearing wall panel projects is taking form in Connecticut. The Smyth, Stamford’s new mixed-use, L-shaped development is being constructed with 12 stories of light gauge steel framing atop a concrete podium.
In addition to designing the structural framework of the LGMF levels, McLaren provided structural plans for the two-story ground-level retail space, a 5-level parking garage and 17,000-square-feet of interior and exterior amenity space. Once complete, the 17-story luxury high-rise will feature 400+ residential units, 19,330 square feet of retail space and three stories of garage parking. Additionally, The Smyth’s amenities will include co-working spaces with private offices and conference capabilities, intended to offer residents a better work from home experience.
