Bianca Cruz

Structural Engineer

With a master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from Syracuse University and a bachelor’s degree in physics from Le Moyne College, Bianca has spent the past three years growing her expertise across a wide range of structural projects. From facade reinforcements and mezzanine additions to structural upgrades for utility infrastructure, she has applied her expertise to commercial, industrial, and renovation work throughout the region. Whether supporting NYC venues and substation retrofits, or existing building renovations, Bianca has quickly become a valued member of our Structural Engineering team – bringing a strong command of technical design, structural analysis, and applied engineering solutions. Passing both the FE and PE exams marks a major professional milestone and reflects her continued growth in the field.
“I’m excited to have recently passed the PE exam and to be working toward obtaining my official license in the coming months! I’m looking forward to continuing my journey at McLaren/KCI by contributing to innovative and impactful projects, collaborating with a talented team, and constantly learning along the way.”

Imanol Fernandez

Structural Engineer

A graduate of Manhattan University with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in civil and structural engineering, Imanol has been an integral part of our NYC structural team since 2022. This accomplishment marks a major step in Imanol’s career development and underscores his growing expertise in structural design and engineering.
“This milestone represents a significant step in my professional journey, and I look forward to the opportunities and responsibilities it brings as I continue advancing in my engineering career. I plan to use this license to take on more leadership in design and project execution, and to contribute more of my technical expertise to impactful projects.”
Headshot of Jared Brown, a Structural Engineer at McLaren Engineering Group

Jared Brown

Structural Engineer

A graduate of the University of Connecticut with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in civil and structural engineering, Jared has brought a strong foundation in technical analysis, fieldwork, and design coordination to a wide range of projects across the NYC region.

Over the past three years, he’s contributed to building condition assessments, QPSI garage inspections, solar upgrades, and public infrastructure projects; helping ensure structural integrity from concept through construction. His success on the PE exam marks a major milestone and reflects his continued professional growth as a Structural Engineer.

“I am incredibly excited to have recently obtained my PE license and I look forward to continuing to learn from and work alongside so many brilliant engineers at McLaren/KCI. I’ve learned how to think critically, design responsibly, and approach challenges with confidence. I’m proud of this step forward and grateful for the team that’s helped build the foundation I stand on today.”

A graduate of Rowan University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Dean brings more than eight years of experience in construction management and engineering across a range of critical public works projects throughout NYC, the boroughs, and the tri-state area.

His diverse project background includes marine and waterfront structures, bridges, freight rail yards, and commuter rail systems, supporting both large-scale capital programs and local initiatives for public and private clients. Dean has also worked on waterfront infrastructure at Naval bases and ports worldwide, applying his diving experience to deliver complex marine inspections and solutions. His expertise extends to cost estimating, engineering report development, and quality assurance.

“This PE will allow me to continue to advance in my diving career the way I always hoped. The underwater world is not nearly as scary as studying and preparing for the PE, I am glad to have achieved this milestone.”

Headshot of Matthew East, a Structural Engineer at McLaren Engineering Group

Matthew East

Structural Engineer

With both a bachelor’s and a doctorate in Civil Engineering from McMaster University and extensive research experience in structural dynamics, seismic resilience, and nonlinear analysis, Matt brings a deep technical foundation to our Structural Engineering team.

Since joining the firm he has contributed to a range of complex projects – from peer reviews of high-rise towers to foundation and framing design for mixed-use developments across the East Coast.

“It has long been a goal of mine to obtain my PE license, and this exam represents a major milestone toward that achievement. I’m proud of the work it’s taken to get here, and I’m especially grateful to the mentors, colleagues, and peers who have supported me along the way.”
