Hoisting New Span to Travel Height Ahead of Roll-in

Construction Progress

Van Wyck Expressway
Bridge Roadway Improvements

This project team is taking Van Wyck Expressway to new heights – actually, to new widths!
Working with Northeast Structural Steel, Inc. on widening the Long Island City corridor, our construction engineers designed the towers used to lift the bridge into position in addition to providing sequencing of the lift and direction for jack sizing.

Congrats to all involved for hitting another major project milestone on our way to creating better roadway capacity and access improvements for this major connector to and from the John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport.
