McLaren Engineering Group provided marine consulting and engineering services for the design of the Vallejo Marine Terminal and developed in-depth construction documents. McLaren’s work helped develop this existing site into a functioning bulk handling marine terminal. The first phase of construction consisted of building a 500-foot pile-supported wharf, followed by the extension of the structure.
The McLaren team developed and adjusted environmental loads—including wind, wave and current—to reflect the greater wind fetch at the Vallejo project site. McLaren also designed a geotechnical exploration program and specified the required engineering parameters in a geotechnical report. Performance and load criteria for mooring and berthing were also developed.
