McLaren Engineering Group provided site reconnaissance and schematic design services for pedestrian, transit and bicycle pathway improvements throughout the Village of Nyack, NY. The village needed to address increased traffic while considering drainage issues and streetscape enhancements. The project was sponsored by New York’s Transportation Alternatives Program and funded by the Federal Highway Administration.
McLaren organized regular committee meetings and public workshops to gather feedback from residents and ensure community support for the project. The firm presented design alternatives to eliminate trip hazards and accessibility intrusions on village sidewalks, and identified new locations for transit, biking and parking.
