Frederick Shared Use Path

McLaren Engineering Group performed the surveying, civil engineering design and permitting work associated with this 10 foot wide by 100 foot long pedestrian bridge, 14 foot wide by 70 foot long tunnel and .4 mile shared use path in Frederick, MD. The path offers pedestrians and cyclists quick connections throughout the city. McLaren’s work helped expand the path, which connects the west and east sides of the city, carrying bicycles and pedestrians safely to and from the Golden Mile, Rock Creek Trail, Waterford Park, Baker Park, Carroll Creek and downtown Frederick.

The McLaren Difference: Applied Ingenuity

McLaren worked closely with key community members to design a pedestrian bridge and tunnel necessary to traverse pathway obstacles that included a highway and a flowing creek. With limited site access, McLaren created a design that worked in harmony with the slopes and angles in the landscape.

Additional Services

McLaren Engineering Group also provided a flood plain impact study, site planning and layout, site investigation and assessment, and capital improvement plan.
