McLaren Engineering Group provided topographic surveys for the Central Park Conservancy to aid in the design development of seven playgrounds along the west side of Central Park in New York City.
McLaren conducted topographic surveys across 14 acres on the west-side perimeter of Central Park. The surveys helped the designers determine where to locate the play equipment – based on pavement changes, walls, ramps, curbs, fences, tree locations and base elevations.
McLaren provided control surveys with checks of elevations and horizontal positing for the construction of these playgrounds. The firm’s checks were provided to the contractors daily to assuring playground equipment accuracy.
