McLaren Engineering Group’s building envelope engineering team worked on the panel cladding for Independence Blue Cross’s headquarters, the area’s second-largest healthcare insurer. Operating at 1901 Market Street in Philadelphia, PA, just minutes from McLaren’s Philadelphia office, the headquarters underwent a 5-year complete building modernization which included the frontage expansion at the ground floor.
McLaren structurally engineered the richly colored Trespa Meteon panel cladding and their connections to the rail system for the accent wall at Independence Blue Cross’s ground floor frontage expansion. The cladding serves as the backdrop to the welcoming plaza that now boosts multiple colors and textures and brings in a balance of hard and soft aesthetics to help nurture creativity, improve moods and enhance the ability to focus. The cladding, which matches the pavers on the path continues into the grand entrance.
