McLaren Engineering Group provided full structural engineering and site/civil engineering services for a $200 million expansion on the Live! Casino Maryland hotel in Hanover, MD. The upgrade includes a 310-room luxury hotel tower and event space with restaurants, a spa and additional parking. At 17-stories it is the tallest structure in the county.
McLaren developed the structural design and internally coordinated with numerous site / civil utilities to make the expansion possible and created a cost-effective structural frame without sacrificing safety or appearance. McLaren designed an impressive sloped facade 17-story all-glass tower, a 50,000 square-foot ballroom event center and 50,000 square-feet of below-grade structured parking with 269 spaces. All construction and designs were planned to minimally disrupt operations at the 24-hour facility, including re-routing casino traffic so as not to close the casino for any amount of time.
This project won Best Retail/Hospitability Project in Baltimore during the Baltimore Business Journal’s 2019 Best in Real Estate Awards.
