Battery Field House Reconstruction
Committed to building sustainable and resilient public spaces, our structural, civil, and geotechnical teams are working on the reconstruction and expansion of the 1,900 sq ft Field House in NYC’s historic Battery Park. This project involves repurposing the existing structure by renovating the interior and adding an ADA-compliant restroom, enhancing the visitor experience, and supporting SeaGlass Carousel operations.
The project includes conceptual designs for the curved exterior facade, roof framing, and typical connections. The west addition will extend the existing structure on new pile foundations, while the east addition will be a free-standing structure on a thickened slab-on-grade footing due to an MTA tunnel below.
