It’s opening night! BLINDNESS, the spellbinding off broadway light and sound experience, debuts in NYC with a socially-distanced audio adaptation based on the dystopian novel of the same name.
Void of live actors, audiences are (safely) engrossed in a vivid tale of metaphoric darkness and light through binaural headphone technology while being surrounded by immersive lighting and atmospheric design.
McLaren’s entertainment team worked with Aurora Productions and Empire Technical Fabrication to provide engineering on the overhead rigging system which consists of two aluminum box truss assemblies, one static and one automated, that support the lighting units. Our team ensured the production loads stayed within the facility grid rating enabling the show to run smoothly behind the scenes.
Putting safety at center stage, the off broadway Daryl Roth Theater will host masked audiences at just 12.5% capacity with configured seating pairs spaced six feet apart.
