McLaren engineered a way for the new 850-pound speakers at Louis Armstrong Stadium to be maintained and secured. The United States Tennis Association opened the new stadium in Corona, Queens, NY just in time for the US Open. McLaren assisted Texas Scenic Company / Pook Diemont & Ohl, Inc in designing 10 custom speaker supports that connect to varying sizes of facility members with custom Lindapter connections. The design includes a mechanical winch that lifts the speakers into place and supports all loads including weight of the speaker, winch dynamics, 98 mph wind loads, and earthquake loads.
