McLaren Engineering Group provided structural engineering for a temporary event structure built in Times Square for a Quaker Oats promotional event. The event provided housing for participants to create oatmeal bowls, with the best recipe winning $250,000 in prize money.
McLaren’s entertainment engineers designed temporary ballast and tent structure to look like a traditional cylinder oatmeal container. The firm also produced a severe weather action plan in accordance with local building codes, allowing the structure to withstand wind gusts up to 30 miles per hour.
