Dive School
Marine Engineer, Lisa Bratton took the plunge into Dive School this summer! Specializing in wave mechanics and coastal engineering, she was performing above ground inspections for waterfront structures but was looking to perform more detailed assessments from a different perspective – underwater.
Fun Fact: Lisa is no stranger to the water, she was actually on the USA National swim team for 7-years straight! At the 2012 United States Olympic Team trials, she made it to the semifinals and then placed 3rd at the 2016 Trials in the 200 meter backstroke. During her college career at Texas A&M University, Lisa was a seven time All-American and two-time SEC Champion. Post-college, she competed in the International Swim League (ISL) for 3 years.
Her First Commerical Dive
From making waves on the surface to exploring the depths below, Lisa Bratton’s journey from USA National swimmer to Engineer Diver has reached a milestone with her first commercial dive job in Jamaica Bay!
Lisa is now an official member of McLaren’s Engineer Dive team performing underwater inspections across the nation to help clients identify unseen issues and develop constructible, durable repairs of waterfront structures.
