McLaren is proud to have partnered with Quennell Rothschild & Partners on renovating NYC parks that will not only help provide local green space for neighborhoods in need, it will also help keep our waterways cleaner. McLaren is engineering a variety of stormwater management features for these parks located within the NYCDEP’s Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Priority Watershed. Stormwater such as surface water running off city streets and paved lots is the leading cause of pollution of streams, rivers, and oceans. The goal of the project is to divert stormwater from adjacent streets to Green Infrastructure (GI) practices located in the facilities of the community parks. These practices will allow for water to be infiltrated or stored on-site, with overflow pipes to convey the water back to the existing combined sewers.
