McLaren is proud to announce that Structural Engineer, Jake Leventhal, P.E., was given the prestigious “Young Engineer of the Year” award by the New York State Society of Professional Engineers (NYSSPE). He was honored with the award for his innovative, custom engineering solutions to complex projects across the New York metro region!
With more than six years of structural engineering experience, Jake leads McLaren’s NY metro area facade group. He is a Professional Engineer and NFRC Certified Simulator specializing in the analysis and design of curtain walls, canopies and glass structures. He also oversees McLaren’s special inspection services for Wall Panels, Curtain Walls, and Veneers; as well as provides consultation services for architects and owners. His standout New York City projects include the highline’s 520 W. 28th Street (stainless-steel panels glass and glazing, thermal review and connection engineering), LaGuardia Airport Concourse B in Queens (custom facade design and thermal analysis), NYU’s Langone Medical Center (facade replacement design), the Fulton Market (metal panel design), 601 Lexington Avenue (skylight thermal analysis) and 400 Park Avenue South (aluminum and glass curtainwall installation consultation and design of field repairs).
In addition, Jake has been traveling the northeast providing AIA approved lectures on Structural Glass Design and helps mentor junior structural engineers at McLaren. Congratulations Jake on receiving this much-deserved award!
