Major Contributor at ASCE International Conference on Sustainable Infrastructure

Senior Marine Project Manager, Matt McCarty, PE, SE authored a paper and presented “A Case Study and Recommendation for Large Scale Floating Wetlands” at the ASCE International Conference on Sustainable Infrastructure held in New York City last month. McCarty’s paper and presentation described the first of its kind floating wetland system McLaren designed for the National Aquarium. These floating wetlands are currently being tested just outside McLaren’s Maryland office, between piers at the aquarium’s main campus, at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.

As leaders in resiliency and sustainability McLaren also contributed through Chief of Staff, Ray Fusco who moderated the panel “Wetland Mitigation Banks: An Innovative Strategy for Permitting State and Federal In-Water Environmental Impacts” and Marine Engineer, Anand Agarwal, PE was co-author for the presentation “Water Edge Design Guidelines: LEED® for the New York Harbor” presented by Roland Lewis at Waterfront Alliance.
