McLaren provided structural and geotechnical engineering services on the 1,800-person venue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn called Brooklyn Steel. The former steel fabrication plant on Frost Street was transformed from an active warehouse into a two-level concert space. To minimize escaping sound that could disrupt the neighborhood, McLaren engineered a custom green roof. The team also designed a new moving stage that allows for the space to adapt for different sized crowds. From the foundation to the production grid to the outside facade, McLaren is pleased to be a part of this award-winning adaptive reuse project.
