Marriott Hotel Ground Breaking

They have started building the new 144-room Courtyard by Marriott hotel in at the Melford Development in Bowie, Maryland. The 5-story hotel, located at 16800 Science Drive, will feature a brick facade, several conference and meeting rooms, a first-floor restaurant and will be constructed utilizing Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) requirements as specified by the United States Green Building Council.

McLaren provided surveying, site development design, storm drain, stormwater management, paving, landscape architecture, permitting, and engineer-of-record services.

McLaren sponsored Great Guy Honoree, Dan Teutul at the second annual Great Guys event held in Middletown, New York. This event honored four (4) men who have demonstrated their commitment to the Hudson Valley Cancer Resource Center’s mission and the cancer community in the Hudson Valley.

As part of our 40th Anniversary celebration, we’re revisiting 10 of our favorite projects and moments from the past 40 years. Here is number four!

1900: McLaren provided engineering services for this 220x160 fabric structure, which is supported by 6 masts, and provided remedial design work on the pier that it resides on in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. Since then the venue has featured a wide variety of popular musicians, and is located in the backyard of our Baltimore regional office.

Award Winning 195 Broadway

195 Broadway was named the 2017 Commercial Lobby Winner by the design competition NYCxDesign and won a 2017 Honor Award for Historic Preservation from the America Institute of Architects New York State! Built in 1916, the historic building is the site of the first transcontinental telephone call. McLaren performed preliminary and final engineering design for lobby renovations that included the fabrication and installation of a new 30-foot-tall interior glass demising wall system.
