Wartburg Adult Care Community

The Wartburg.jpg
Project Overview:
The proposed project relocates existing services already on campus and responds to industry trends in long-term care by providing settings that promote the independence of seniors. These efforts are done while respecting and maintaining the heritage of the early 20th century structures and open space which conveys the unique sense of place on the Wartburg campus. The principal project activities involve the construction of a skilled nursing facility and adult day care center, construction of a new supportive senior housing building, the demolition of two (2) structures, and reconfiguration of associated parking. The Proposed Project would result in a decrease of 30 skilled nursing beds, an increase of 61 supportive senior housing units, and a net increase of 81 parking spaces.
McLaren's Role:
The design phase included the need to obtain fast track approvals from the City of Mount Vernon to allow construction to be completed within 2 years. The project was subject to Special Permit approval by the City Planning Board. McLaren is providing preliminary engineering, site plan approval/ design development documents, construction documents, construction phase services, and SPDES inspections.
