McLaren plays key role at 52nd Annual SARA Convention

McLaren's founder, President, and CEO, Mal McLaren.

The Society of American Registered Architects’ (SARA) 52nd Annual Convention started Wednesday, and McLaren Engineering Group, as sponsor and participant, will play a prominent role in the event.

Hosted this year at the Westin Colonnade Hotel in Coral Gables, FL, the SARA convention is a major gathering of Architectural Firms from across the United States. Mal McLaren, P.E., McLaren’s President and CEO and one of engineering’s most recognized innovators, will be a focal point, as he will be giving a presentation and an AIA-approved Continuing Education Course entitled: “Engineering of Entertainment Show Effects and Stages.” He will deliver the lecture on Friday, the middle day of the five-day convention.

McLaren, also an event sponsor, maintains offices nationwide – including a satellite in Orlando. Held from October 15-19, the convention will give other attendees an opportunity to acquaint themselves with McLaren. A multi-disciplined consulting firm, McLaren is known for pioneering new technologies and concepts and involving itself in some of the most exciting engineering projects in the world, including stages for the Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, Tina Turner, and the Super Bowl Halftime Shows; design of the largest floating ferry terminal in America, at Battery Park City in Manhattan; and design of high-rise buildings such as its residential tower at 164 Kent Ave. in Brooklyn.

In addition to McLaren’s presentation, other seminars, lectures, and award presentations will fill out the Convention’s agenda.

Founded in 1956, SARA is a professional society that includes all architects, regardless of their roles in the architectural community. SARA follows the Golden Rule and supports the concept of profitable professionalism for its members.
