Beacon Harbor Waterfront Revitalization at Denning's Point

Beacon Harbor, the Future Home of a New Rivers and Estuaries Center
Project Overview: 
McLaren was retained to complete a study and assessment of the City of Beacon’s Harbor Management Plan. Beacon has been chosen as the future home of a “state-of-the-art” Rivers and Estuaries Center that will be built on the Hudson River waterfront on a parcel of state-owned land known as Denning’s Point. The City's Plan defines the Harbor modifications needed to accommodate research vessels, vessel facilities, and a docking pier associated with the addition of the Center.
McLaren's Role: 
McLaren is providing marine engineering services, including assessment of the potential locations of the research vessels and their facilities, performing site and environmental studies, selecting a preferred location, obtaining regulatory permits and approvals, and designing the associated vessel facilities and pier. In fact, the firm is exploring all feasible alternatives in its waterfront/marine design for this development. The City will develop a public outreach and also involvement program for this project, for which McLaren will supply review documents, presentation materials, and technical assistance.
