Project Overview: 
Signature Place is a proposed 38-story residential high-rise complex in downtown Stamford comprising 1.6 million square feet of floor area. Phase 1 of the project consisted of Building 1, a 38-story tower, plus 289,000 square feet below grade. Phase 2 included Buildings 2 and 3 - two 30-story towers plus 318,000 square feet below grade.
McLaren's Role: 
McLaren provided structural and foundation engineering for Signature Place. The structural system design is composed of conventionally reinforced concrete with shear walls. The use of high strength concrete (12,000 psi) was considered to diminish column sizes with increased leasable space. The foundation system design is a series of six foot diameter caissons that were to be drilled to quartzite bedrock. Groundwater management was a serious consideration for both constructability and serviceability, as the actual groundwater level is above the lowest floor level.
