Point Street Waterfront Development

Waterfront Development at Point Street, Yonkers, NY
Project Overview:
In conjunction with the City of Yonkers’ Master Plan to redevelop its Business District, McLaren was retained to provide structural, marine, bridge, civil, and geotechnical engineering services at Point Street Landing, on the Hudson River. The 32-acre site is bounded by the River to the North and West, to the East by the Hudson Line of Metro-North Railroad, and to the South by a bus depot and bag factory. When the development is complete, the site will contain 1140 residential units, including four high rise buildings ranging from 26 to 39 stories. The structures will feature 40,000 square feet of retail space and 54,000 of commercial space. Also included will be a public esplanade, a 450-slip marina (225 wet, 225 dry), a new train station for Metro North Railroad and a parking structure.
McLaren's Role:
McLaren, as the waterfront development and marine engineering expert, will provide a host of services in the development of this piece of Yonkers shoreline. The services can be broken down into five categories: marine inspection and design; geotechnical and site/civil services; surveying; bridge design; and structural design.
