LIRR Bay Ridge-Bushwick Line Assessment

Tasks included data collection, structural integrity evaluation, a materials testing program, and prioritization of structures. McLaren identified substandard conditions affecting the safety, serviceability and the life of the structures, ensured compliance with Article IX of the New York State Highway Law, and proposed solutions to eliminate heavy freight/speed restrictions. McLaren also rated live loads; obtained horizontal and vertical clearances; and identified constraints for double-stacked freight cars, identifying potential expansion and capabilities, identifying fatigue and seismic vulnerabilities.
