McLaren performed structural engineering on various scenic elements and rigging for Rocky Broadway. Rocky Broadway is a musical based on the 1976 movie Rocky. It tells the story of a boxer who lives the American Dream.

Wibar is now open at LaGuardia Airport Delta Terminal C

Wibar is an upscale wine bar featuring a canopy chandelier that is now the centerpiece of the terminal. The chandelier creates a canopy above the entire space, both collecting and reflecting light to create a transforming experience for the viewer. This custom designed canopy is made up of a delicate metal frame suspended from above, and supports more than 1,100 custom fumed glass blue crystals.

McLaren Helps Make Super Bowl XLVIII Events Safe and Successful

Super Bowl frenzy has gripped the New York metro area and McLaren Engineering Group (McLaren) has been in the trenches; helping to make the myriad events and happenings safe and successful for all involved. McLaren has been involved with planning and the development of structural elements for many events throughout the city.

Tommy Hilfiger Holiday Display

McLaren worked closely with American Christmas, Inc. (a holiday decoration company) to support their design for Tommy Hilfiger’s New York City store front holiday display. The major challenge was to anchor the ornamental structure to the existing structure without causing any damage to the limestone façade. The design solution was to go behind the limestone at the motor joints, to help secure the tubing for the garland and wreaths with snap toggle anchor bolts. Light gauge frame supports were added below the ornamental structure to hold the weight of the tubing and garland.

McLaren provided structural and mechanical engineering services for every element manufactured by TAIT Towers on this show. The automated bridge was by far the most advanced element on the show, which benefited from McLaren’s insights from the beginning of the development process. For the automated bridge, McLaren engineers were involved from concept development through fabrication providing design assistance and engineering to aid the design process.
