The holiday season is here…the Winter Village at Bryant Park is open.

McLaren conducted a structural analysis of three (3) large temporary tent structures clad in glass; these serve as the skating pavilion and the restaurant surrounding the skating rink. Design assistance was required to create these custom tents, that are constructed specifically to withstand New York City winters.

McLaren’s Entertainment Division has been hard at work helping to engineer the public debut of TAIT Towers’ Six Degrees of Freedom Ride System, which integrates a virtual reality experience provided by Major Mega. This immersive ride, named the “Mars Landing Simulator,” debuted early this week in a pop-up event celebrating the premiere of the National Geographic Channel’s new mini-series “Mars”. This ride system propels a 2 person ride vehicle on a dynamic flight path using six high-powered winches.

Cirque du Soleil La Nouba

"One of the most challenging aspects of this project was determining the dynamic forces on the act's show components and rigging due to the performer's acrobatics" said Andrew Habel, McLaren's Florida Regional Director.

Cardinal Egan Residence Addition

McLaren provided structural engineering services for the new 72 room facility that opened yesterday in the Bronx. The building is a rehabilitation and long-term nursing care facility for retired Catholic priests. Cardinal Timothy Dolan presided over the blessing and sanctification of the facility.

Mal McLaren Honored with 'Heroes of the Harbor' Award

A man who has spent much of his career diving under piers in the New York City harbor was honored Oct. 5 by the Waterfront Alliance with its esteemed 2016 Heroes of the Harbor award.

The organization recognized Malcolm G. McLaren, president and CEO of McLaren Engineering Group, for his remarkable contributions to the New York harbor and waterways, calling him an "enthusiast and innovator."
