Sentosa Crane Dance honored by Structural Engineers Association of New York

Singapore's Dancing Cranes - along with McLaren Engineering Group (Structural Design Firm) and Entertainment Design Group (Architect) - has received the Structural Engineers Association of New York's (SEAoNY) Excellence in Structural Engineering Award.

McLaren engineers MTV's New Year's Eve 2011 Ball Drop

Snooki descends to Ring in 2011.

MTV commissioned McLaren to engineer the television network’s own version of the New Year’s midnight ball drop.

The production, which included a plastic and metal sphere that was lowered over 12 ft. from an elevated circular truss to the stage precisely at midnight, featured Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, a notable member of MTV’s hit “Jersey Shore.” Snooki was contained inside the sphere as it descended.

When the Black Eyed Peas hit the road for the Latin American leg of their E.N.D World Tour, they faced a challenging reality: Each of the 15 stadiums in as many cities was to provide its own stage, varying broadly in construction materials and techniques. With an act chock full of mechanized, audio and video effects, the Peas and their production crew needed experts to help coordinate the various engineering concerns in order to preserve the show’s spectacle.
