Project Overview: 
416-420 Kent is comprised of 23-story towers, 6-story podiums, 1-level underground parking garages, residential units, commercial space, and amenity spaces on top of the podiums including swimming pools and outdoor basketball courts. The total constructed floor area is 800,000 square feet.
McLaren's Role: 
McLaren is providing full engineering design services for the structural, geotechnical, marine, and civil portions of the project. The 421a Tax Abatement deadlines created a need for a fast-track design schedule requiring a permit set of structural drawings to be submitted within a one (1) month timeline. Partial borings were expedited to facilitate a preliminary pile design required to submit a structural permit set. Internal coordination between the Structural, Marine, Civil, and Geotechnical Divisions at McLaren allowed the project to move at the fast pace required to meet the project deadlines.

The Bristol at White Plains - North Street Community

Project Overview: 
McLaren provided site/civil engineering services for its integrated community of senior residential housing, healthcare, and wellness services. This site is located on a campus-like setting on the former St. Agnes Hospital property on North Street in White Plains, NY. Construction and renovation has been completed for Building 311 which was repurposed to be used for medical office space while Building 305 (the former hospital) was adaptively reused for The Bristol 112 assisted living units (including 20 dementia units). This project approved master plan also includes four mid-rise residential buildings (containing 335 independent living apartments units) and a commons building and a parking structures in the northern portion of the site. The independent living buildings were redesign to include below grade mechanized parking structures.
McLaren's Role: 
McLaren provided various civil/site engineering services on this project, including: site demolition and phasing, stormwater pollution prevention plan, layout and grading plan (established horizontal and vertical controls for construction, road centerline alignments and profiles, etc.) and utility design. McLaren worked closely with the landscape architect on the design on the independent living garage roof deck, including the drainage plan for this area.

The Bristol at Armonk - Assisted Living Facility

Project Overview: 
McLaren provided the preparation of Site Plan Approval documents for the development of a 6.44-acre site located within the Armonk Business Park. The Bristol at Armonk is a 140-unit Assisted Living Facility.
McLaren's Role: 
McLaren’s was responsible for the Survey, Site/Civil Engineering, SEQR and land use approval services for the proposed 140 bed assisted living facility. Project tasks include the topographic and boundary surveys; determination of requirements for stormwater detention and water quality in accordance with the NYSDEC SPDES General Permit, and the Town regulations; preparation of a site plan approval and construction plans; preparation of subdivision plat, and assisting owner and project team for the Town Planning Board, County and Wetlands Commission for the approval of the project.

Mercy College Dormitory

Project Overview: 
McLaren provided engineering, approval support and surveying services for the construction the new Mercy College Dormitory. The proposed project is the construction of a 350-bed dormitory building, associated walkways, utilities, offsite road and traffic signal improvements, landscaping and additional parking at the College.
McLaren's Role: 
The project integrated a new 350-bed dormitory into the existing campus through the development of revised campus circulation and development of a main pedestrian circulation spine. The project required Site Plan and Special Use Permit approvals from the Village of Dobbs Ferry and review and approval of access by the Village of Irvington. The SEQR process resulted in preparation of a Draft and Final EIS and addressed critical issue of the adjacent historic Old Croton Aqueduct and the adjacent residential community. McLaren performed and provided Topographic, Utility and Boundary Survey, Geotechnical Field Investigation and Report, Site Plan/Village/SEQR Approvals, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), Supported Environmental Impact Statement updates in accordance with SEQR, Construction Documents and Construction Phase Services.

General Electric Crotonville - Global Leadership Development Center

Project Overview: 
Founded in 1956, the 59-acre GE Leadership Development Center campus provides education and corporate training to employees and partners. The project included various additions and renovations such as: white house demolition and renovation, renovation of the residence building, new maintenance building, addition and renovation to education building, renovation of education building, new pedestrian bridge, and new residence building and dining facility.
McLaren's Role: 
The project topography and constraints of the existing utility infrastructure posed significant challenges. McLaren, working with the design team, positioned the new facilities to minimize rock excavation, while maintaining significant trees, site features and the historic Old Croton Aquaduct passing under the property. McLaren prepared design documents and site plan approval drawings to include: site plan (with existing conditions and proposed buildings, sidewalks, parking, roadways, landscaped areas, traffic signs and striping), site grading and utilities plans (with proposed grading for all buildings, sidewalks, parking, roadways, landscaped areas, and existing and proposed utilities), Storwater Protection Plan (SWPPP), Environmental Assessment Form (EAF), and construction Phase Services.
